2011 Events
Our events are all centred around conversation, networking and expanding our skills and knowledge. Throughout 2011 we have explored topics including culture, benefit realisation, emotional change, overcoming the challenges involved in leading change and we hosted a collaborative networking event where people shared their stories and approaches.
In 2011 we hosted six events covering:
15 September 2011, Interactive Event: Aligning Culture with Sally-Anne Cotton, Founder of Executive Alchemist, who kindly shared models, methods, tools, and activities that leverage cultural and stakeholder alignment in support of strategic change initiatives. This event was proudly sponsored by Chandler Macleod
11 August 2011 - Speaker Event: Realising the Benefits. Our panel of leading Change Management practitioners discussed the topic of 'benefit realisation'. This is a key challenge for us all as we are asked to demonstrate the benefits of the change and it's effective management. This event was proudly sponsored by Grant Thornton
16 June 2011 - Speaker Event: Change Without Pain. Andrew Marty, Managing Director of SACS Consulting, explored key change questions and suggested practical, evidence based solutions to help us succeed in the human aspects of change based on latest research and thinking. He explored why people resist, how to encourage people to embrace change, how to get a change back on track when its gone off the rails, embedding change and avoiding collateral damage from our change efforts.
28 April 2011 - Networking Event: Collaborative Consumption. 'Collaborative Consumption...Share Generously, Sponge Shamelessly' was the topic of the CMI Victoria April networking event. We were able to learn from others insights and stories, share and reflect on our experiences, what worked, what didn't and explore key topic(s) of interest. This event was proudly sponsored by Grant Thornton.
17 march 2011 - Speaker event: Getting to the Heart of Change. Our guest speaker, Jeremy Scrivens, The Emotional Economy, introduced Appreciative Inquiry as the positive alternative to engaging people from the heart in taking the change journey. This event was proudly sponsored by Chandler MacLeod.
Coming soon...Our Christmas networking event...and our final event for 2011.
This exciting event will be on 24 November at 5.45pm at Grant Thornton's offices, Level 2, 215 Spring Street in Melbourne. Using positive psychology techniques we will be creating a "positive networking' event that is centred on giving and receiving. Come along and experience this new approach to networking and meet other change professionals. There'll be plenty of Christmas sparkle, music, great food and drinks to say thanks for being a part of the local chapter. There is no charge for members and a small fee for non-members as our Christmas gift to you.
In the year ahead we plan to introduce some mastermind events and a mentoring program. So if you're interested in being part of these activities please contact the Victorian Chapter Lead, Kylie Malmberg at vic@change-management-institute.com.
Please also join us on LinkedIn, Change Management Institute VIC, for more information and discussion.
