1. Do I need to be present at the AGM to be elected?
No. A candidate for office need not be present at the Election, but he/she must accept their nomination either in person at a regular CMI Committee Meeting or in writing.
2. Do I need to be present at the election to vote?
Yes. Under the CMI Association Rules votes must be given in person (voting by proxy is not permitted).
3. Do I need to be a CMI member to vote?
Yes. Only CMI members are eligible to vote.
4. Can I be nominated for more than one office?
Yes. Members can be nominated for multiple offices. However, once elected to an office, their name shall be removed from consideration for any subsequent office.
5. How will officers be elected?
Officers shall be elected by a majority of voting CMI members present at the election meeting. Each member is entitled to one vote only. In the case of an equality of votes, the chairperson of the AGM is entitled to exercise a second or casting vote
