Successful and effective Change Management is cemented by powerful team-wide engagement, which of course has at its heart an intrinsic personal alignment with the reason and need, or the "why" for change.

Our upcoming session explores the importance of leading with the heart, and defining the “why” before the “what and how” for change success. It will focus on how to support senior stakeholders and other business change leads to understand the importance of the why and articulate it to the business. This event has come about through a partnership of Fonterra Co-operative Group and Sysdoc Group.

Felicity Champion, Caroline Wishart and Eithne Sweeney represent a number of facets of change management within Fonterra Co-Operative Group. They have all been involved in large scale change projects within the Co-op and will discuss their experiences of facilitating senior stakeholders to understand the importance of the why and then articulate it.  Eithne will present a Fonterra case study where the defining of the “why” proved pivotal to its success.

Warren Mara is an adult learning specialist from Sysdoc Group, who specialises in interactive learning approaches. He will take you through a practical activity that you can run with anyone leading change in your organisation that needs to be able to articulate the “why” and lead with the heart as well as the head.

The session will include a case study presentation from Fonterra, followed by a practical activity session run by Sysdoc that change managers can use to facilitate their senior stakeholders to articulate their “why”.
